The Sounds of Christmas You Don’t Want to Miss

The sounds of Christmas might be perfectly summed up by words like “holly” or “jolly” or “Christmas cheer.” But the sounds of Christmas can also be indescribable and timeless, and sometimes are simply best experienced—and heard—firsthand. At Lexie Hearing, we want you to be able to have the full holiday experience, which means not missing out on these sounds of Christmas.

Christmas Music

While it may be a pain to hear Christmas music at the grocery store weeks before Thanksgiving, isn’t that part of the Christmas experience? And by the time Christmas Eve is around the corner, it’s hard to not hum along to classics like Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” and Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song”.

Silver Bells

You may choose to call them jingle bells or sleigh bells, but whatever name you choose, the sounds of bells ringing is really one of the most tell-tale signs that Christmas is around the corner. If you step outside in December and can’t hear bells a-ringing from somewhere, is it even really the holiday season?

Carolers

Nothing says Christmas more than a group of people going house-to-house to spread holiday cheer through traditional Christmas tunes like “Silent Night”, “O Christmas Tree”, and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”. Caroling beautifully captures the spirit of the season, and it’s one of the sounds of Christmas you definitely don’t want to miss.

The fireside blazing bright

Although you might not hear the brightness of the fireside, you can certainly hear the delightful sound of the crackling flames. This wonderful sound brings images of hot cocoa, chestnuts roasting, and matching pajamas by the fireside before Christmas.

Hustle and bustle

There’s almost a sense of magic the first time you step outside to run errands and your neighborhood has transformed into full-on Christmas mode. Everyone’s out shopping for presents, bells are ringing, Christmas music is playing faintly, and the light babble of conversations fills the air.

Holiday Cheer

Cue the clinking of glasses when you’re finally reunited with friends and family. The laughter, conversation, and fun that’s exchanged on a day where you all come together to enjoy each other’s company is what the holidays are all about.

Crunching snow

There’s something special about the crunch of snow beneath your boots, especially after the first snowfall. And come Christmas time, it’s always best to have snow on the ground for a picturesque White Christmas.

Christmas movie classics

“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!” is a line that you don’t want to miss, even if it’s for the 12th consecutive holiday in a row. It’s not necessarily about the movie, but the experience itself! Lazing around with friends or family, sipping eggnog and hot cocoa, and crunching on a Christmas cookie while taking part in the classic holiday tradition.

The crinkle of wrapping paper

There’s something exciting about the sound that accompanies the opening of gifts, even if they’re not your own. The distinct tearing of decorated paper is one of the most magical sounds of Christmas, accompanied by seeing the delight on the faces of younger family members through the flurry of paper and presents.
