SXSW, or South by Southwest, is an annual festival that celebrates the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture, hosting over 500, 000 people. Lexie Hearing’s COO, Seline van der Wat, has an exciting opportunity to speak at the auspicious occasion to aid in raising awareness of Lexie Hearing’s mission to provide affordable, accessible hearing healthcare for all.

What is SXSW?

SXSW is an annual festival hosted during the month of March in Austin, Texas, that plays host to over 500, 000 creative professionals who are passionate about the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture. SXSW features a variety of events, conferences, and showcases that are “dedicated to helping creative people achieve their goals”.

“An essential destination for global professionals, the annual March event features sessions, music and comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development, and a variety of networking opportunities.

SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.”

Why are we attending?

Lexie Hearing COO, Seline van der Wat, has an incredible opportunity to speak to those attending SXSW 2024 about technology’s role in addressing the global hearing epidemic, as well as engaging older audiences with wearable health technology. It is an incredibly important topic as technology continues to advance and enhance accessibility in how we interact with the world around us.

Raising awareness for the hearing industry has never been more important. According to the National Council on Aging, it is believed that the amount of Americans suffering from hearing loss will double in the 43 years alone. This is why raising as much awareness around hearing loss, and Lexie Hearing’s mission to provide affordable, accessible hearing healthcare for all, is necessary.
